Coinbase Inc., the biggest cryptocurrency in the US has been given permission by Germany’s financial market watchdog BaFin on Monday to provide crypto custody services and proprietary trading. This is currently the first licence BaFin has issued for such business in Germany.
Coinbase went public this year being the first cryptocurrency exchange to do this and this news shows a move by Coinbase to expand their services to Europe.
This license allows Coinbase Germany GmbH to conduct proprietary trading and custody of crypto assets, BaFin added.
